“Andy
Halsey is alive and well and living in the Lake District”
Andy
Halsey has been a performer and songwriter since the 1980's.
From a career that began busking in France in his teens, he
has steadily honed his songwriting craft and his skills as a performer.
He spent much of the Nineties as a solo artist with RCA and other
labels, playing the clubs of London and New York. Halsey has supported
a variety of established artists and poets, gaining valuable experience
as a performer in major and intimate venues alike.
Andy
has recently been working for charity teaching music in isolated
rural communities. He has also previewed his new songs for both
adults and children at various festivals on his Music Bus.
These
days he lives in a village in the Lake District, increasingly resurfacing
to perform his latest songs. These songs represent independence,
determination, single mindedness, honesty and a sense of peace.
Halsey's
attitude to life is clearly revealed in his latest collection of
songs which he is currently performing live around the UK.
“His new material mixes folktronic grooves and poetic country
ballads…The subtly constructed lyrics and heartfelt melodies
are both compelling and moving.”
